A Fort Mill Foundation
Dr. Allison Thompson was born and raised in Fort Mill, South Carolina. She attended Gold Hill Elementary, Gold Hill Middle School, and Fort Mill High School before continuing her education at the College of Charleston, where she majored in Chemistry and was a member of the Cougarettes Dance Team.
She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine, graduating in 2014. She then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at Medical University of South Carolina in 2015, receiving advanced training in comprehensive, patient-focused care.
A Personal Passion for Smile Transformation
Dr. Allison Thompson’s journey into dentistry is deeply personal. As a teenager, she underwent years of orthodontic treatment to correct peg lateral incisors next to her front teeth. That experience gave her firsthand insight into how transformative dentistry can be — not just for appearance, but for confidence and self-esteem.
This personal understanding drives Dr. Allison Thompson’s approach at Palm Branch Dentistry. She has a special appreciation for the emotional impact of a healthy, beautiful smile and strives to create that same life-changing confidence for her patients at Palm Branch Dentistry.
Professional Experience
Before founding Palm Branch Dentistry, Dr. Allison Thompson practiced as an associate dentist at Town Dentistry for 7.5 years. There, she built lasting relationships and developed a reputation for clinical excellence and compassionate care — values that now define the patient experience at Palm Branch Dentistry.
Life in Atlanta
After completing her residency, Dr. Allison Thompson moved to Atlanta with her husband, Kip Thompson, a proud Atlanta native. Kip attended St. Martin’s Episcopal School, Wesleyan School, and The Citadel, and currently works as a Sales Manager at Veritiv.
Today, Dr. Allison Thompson and her family live in Brookhaven, Georgia with their twin daughters, Avery and Kaylan. She is an active Door Holder (volunteer) at Passion City Church 515 location, where faith and community remain central to her life.
Outside of Palm Branch Dentistry, Dr. Allison Thompson enjoys pickleball, Mahjong, traveling, dining out, and spending time outdoors with friends and family.

Do you offer financing?
Yes, we accept Care Credit. Also for any procedures that require lab time (crowns, Occlusal Guards, partials, implant crowns, etc.) as long as you pay ½ at the time of impression, we can take payments however you’d like as long as the full amount is paid on or before the seat date.
Do you file insurance?
We do file all PPO dental plans on your behalf as an out of network provider. We take your estimated patient portion at the time of service and if insurance pays less or more than expected we will reach out for payment or to give you a refund for any overpayment.
What Insurance do you accept?
All PPO Dental Plans,using the out of network benefits. If you have a copy of your insurance card, we are happy to look into your specific coverage and give you a more accurate cost estimate.
How much is this going to cost?
If you have dental insurance we are happy to look into your specific plan for an estimate or send a predetermination to find out the exact cost.
What is the dentist’s name?
Dr. Allison Thompson (formerly the office of Dr. Angelo Kliossis. He retired in June of 2023)
Do you have appointments on Fridays or weekends?
No, our normal business hours are Monday-Thursday 7:30 am - 3:30 pm. We offer early morning appointments to allow patients to come in before work or school.
Do you have availability around 10am?
Yes we do!
Do you have availability after 3pm?
Our last appointment is typically booked at 2:30 pm, but we do offer early morning appointments. Would a 7:30 am work for you?

How long can I wait to do my treatment?
The cavity is the smallest it will ever be at this moment and will only get worse over time. We recommend getting treatment done at your earliest convenience to prevent it turning into a larger and more expensive problem to fix.
